Have you ever gotten 45 seconds into a scene and realized that you forgot to care about anything at all? Have you ever heard the other character in a scene say, “that’s why we’re best friends” and thought, “my character is dead inside”? This class will focus on exercises and two-person scene work that helps you make things matter. Focusing on emotion and relationship can 1) create interesting, compelling scenes between characters who are believable and human, 2) create the basis for pattern and game by establishing a “what” of the scene, and 3) allow you to settle into this scene, rather than spending the scene trying to look for a different, better one.
This four week class intended for experienced performers is facilitated by Fred Brown, an instructor known from New York to Philadelphia. Come explore emotional, relationship based scene-work.
